Your Cabo Private Chef Request Checklist

The details that help turn a private chef enquiry into a clear menu and quote, from your guest count to kitchen access and dietary requests.

A useful private chef request starts with your date, guest count, villa area and the kind of meal you want. Add a few kitchen and dietary details, and the conversation can move toward a practical menu and written quote instead of a long chain of follow-up questions. You do not need to arrive with a finished menu.

Send your private chef request when you have the basics. The form starts an enquiry; it does not reserve a date.

Build a brief your whole group can agree on

Choose one person to collect the group’s answers. Otherwise, one guest may be imagining a seated seafood dinner while another expects tacos by the pool. Neither choice is wrong; the useful step is deciding which evening you are planning before discussing individual dishes.

Start with the mood and format: a relaxed arrival meal, breakfast before an outing, a shared dinner or a birthday at the table. The private chef sample menus offer starting points such as coastal dinner, taco night, breakfast and brunch, and a steak celebration. They are menu ideas, not a promise that every pictured dish will be served.

Details to prepare before requesting a villa meal
DetailWhat to sendWhy it helps
Date and timingYour preferred date and meal time in Cabo.Separates the dining time from preparation access.
Guest countAdults, children and any count still to be confirmed.Supports portion and staffing planning.
PropertyVilla name or area, plus a property contact when available.Allows access and kitchen suitability to be checked.
Menu directionYour preferred meal and a few likes or dislikes.Gives the proposal a clear starting point.
Dietary requestsSpecific restrictions, allergies or separate meals to discuss.Allows suitability to be assessed before you commit.
BudgetA planning range and whether it should cover food only or additional services.Prevents two different ideas of the same budget.

Ask the villa contact about the kitchen

A beautiful listing photo does not describe the kitchen’s working space. Ask whether an outside chef can use it, when the property will be accessible, and whether any community or building approval is needed. Requests for Cabo San Lucas, San José del Cabo and the Tourist Corridor remain subject to access and availability.

A short equipment description is more helpful than “fully equipped.” Mention the stove, oven, refrigerator space, preparation counter and any grill you hope to use. If you are unsure, a few current photos can help explain the setup. Do not assume an appliance shown in an old listing is available for your meal.

Also check the dining side: enough seats, plates, cutlery and an indoor alternative if your intended outdoor area is not usable. List gaps in the request. Rentals and special styling need to be discussed; they are not automatically part of chef service.

Make dietary requests specific without designing two dinners

Describe what guests need, not just the label for a diet. For example, explain whether one person needs a separate main course or whether you would prefer a shared menu everyone can consider. Allergies should be clearly identified so the team can assess ingredients, preparation and whether the request can be accommodated. Do not treat a form submission as confirmation of suitability.

For children, give the number and the kind of food you would like to discuss. Avoid assuming that a child’s meal, smaller portion or separate serving time has a fixed price. Ask for those details in the proposal.

An example of a clear enquiry

We are planning dinner for eight adults and two children at a villa in the Tourist Corridor. We would like a shared coastal meal around 7 p.m. on our preferred date. One guest does not eat seafood, and we have a dietary request to discuss. We can send kitchen photos and confirm property access. Please propose the menu, service details and complete price in USD.

This is a planning example, not a sample booking or customer testimonial. It leaves room for the team to make a proposal while identifying the issues that affect it.

Review the quote beyond the dish names

Check the food selection, portions, ingredient budget, preparation, serving, cleanup and staff. Then check timing, applicable fees, extras and payment terms. Only items listed in the accepted quote are included. If drinks are part of the evening, use the chef dinner and cocktail hour planning guide to separate the two services clearly.

The final review should answer a simple question: could another person in your group read this proposal and understand what is included? If something still depends on a conversation, ask for it to be clarified before booking.

Common questions

Can I enquire before choosing a villa?

Yes, start with the area you are considering and explain that the property is not final. Access, equipment and the final service arrangements still need confirmation.

Can I ask for several meals?

Yes. List the dates and meal types separately, including which details remain flexible. Ask for the scope and price of each meal to be clear.

Does the acknowledgement email mean my chef is booked?

No. An acknowledgement means the request was received. Availability, the menu, the final quote and booking terms must be agreed before the service is reserved.

Start with your date, group and meal idea. We can take the planning from there.
