One Villa Evening: A Chef Dinner and Cocktail Hour in Cabo
How to coordinate a chef meal, bar service and a few optional finishing touches with one useful timeline and clearly defined service scopes.

To combine a private chef dinner and cocktail hour at your Cabo villa, plan one evening but keep two clear service scopes. Agree on the guest count, drinks window, dinner time and shared kitchen access, then review the food and bar proposals separately. A coordinated timeline should not leave you guessing whether alcohol, glassware or dinner service is included.
Start with a private chef request and mention that you are also interested in a bartender. If drinks are your starting point, use the bar request form and describe the dinner plan.
Choose the evening, not a list of unrelated services
Picture where your guests will spend their time. You might want a short drinks gathering on the terrace before a seated dinner, or a relaxed meal with drinks served from the villa counter. Those formats create different staffing, space and timing questions even when the guest count is identical.
Choose the main moment first. If dinner is the focus, arrange the drinks window around it. If the group is gathering for a longer cocktail afternoon and an informal meal, explain that instead. There is no need to add every available service to make the occasion feel considered.
Then name what matters most: sharing food, a sushi-focused meal, a birthday dessert or time at the table without managing the bar yourself. The proposals can be shaped around those priorities rather than a vague request for “everything included.”

| Stage | Decision | Confirm with the team |
|---|---|---|
| Before guests gather | Property access and preparation. | Staff arrival, kitchen use, refrigeration and bar setup. |
| First drinks | The start of the guest serving window. | Available selections and where guests will gather. |
| Move to dinner | When guests sit down or food is served. | How the chef and bartender share serving space. |
| During the meal | Whether bar service continues. | Drinks scope and the agreed serving end time. |
| Dessert and finish | Cake, dessert or an optional final moment. | Separate additions, clearing responsibilities and departure. |
Write the actual times in Cabo local time once the schedule is agreed. Preparation and breakdown are not the same as serving hours. Avoid building an evening around an assumed arrival time or assuming that a late dinner automatically extends the bartender’s service.
Match the food and drinks without overcomplicating either
Begin with one of the chef menu directions, such as coastal dinner, taco night or a steak celebration. For seafood-focused plans, sushi dinner starts at $149 USD per person. Sushi and lobster starts at $250 USD per person and adds a lobster course to the sushi experience. Selection, portions, preparation and availability are confirmed in the quote.
The bar can follow a similarly clear brief. Your Villa Bartender starts at $199 USD for four serving hours, up to ten adults with one bartender; you provide alcohol, mixers, ice and drinkware. Signature Cocktail Setup starts at $349 USD for four serving hours for the same starting group scope, with planned cocktail ingredients and ice; alcohol and drinkware are separate.
Cabo Cocktail Hour starts at $59 USD per person for three serving hours, with an eight-person minimum and $472 starting total. It is a hosted selection with spirits and quantities specified in the quote, not an unlimited bar. Use the complete bartender options comparison before choosing.
These starting figures do not create a combined package price. Ask for a final USD proposal that identifies every service, its scope and applicable fees. If the chef and bar serve different numbers of guests, make that explicit.
Resolve shared space before the evening
A villa kitchen can be the center of both dinner preparation and drink service. Tell the team where each activity is intended to happen, especially if guests will be moving between a terrace, pool area and dining room. Check counter space, refrigerator access, plates and drinkware with the property contact.
For a seated meal, also explain where people will gather beforehand. You do not need to design the service yourself; you need to give the team an accurate picture of the property. The chef request checklist covers the kitchen and access details worth collecting.
Add one or two finishing touches
A celebration cake can be the dessert moment rather than an extra course nobody planned for. If you request one, discuss guest count, design direction, dietary needs and how it fits the dinner. Do not assume candles, serving items or a particular delivery time are included unless confirmed.
Flowers for the table are another optional addition. Describe the table and the amount of space you want to leave for shared dishes. Both cakes and flowers are subject to availability and quoted separately; mentioning an extra in the form is not a purchase or reservation.
Questions before you make it official
Do I need to book both services together?
You can enquire about either service on its own or ask about both. Availability and the details of each service still need confirmation; a chef request does not automatically reserve a bartender.
Can the bar finish before dinner ends?
That can be part of your requested schedule. Ask the proposal to specify the serving window and what happens to any remaining supplies or equipment afterward.
What should the confirmation include?
Look for the agreed menus, drinks and quantities, guest counts, staff, hours, inclusions, final USD price and booking terms. An email acknowledging your request confirms receipt only, not a reserved evening.
Send the idea, the date and the property details. A clear written plan is what turns separate food and drinks requests into one evening your group can look forward to.
